• This course introduces students to the principles, methods, and resources for reading drama. It explores the development of theater over the last 2000 years, with the main  focus on British theater from the 15th century to the present era. Dramatic texts that range from the classical period to the twentieth century will be analyzed with reference to their historical and theoretical backgrounds. Students are expected to learn about drama as a genre, and to be able to analyze and interpret plays in a critical manner.
