  • This course introduces students to the principles, methods, and resources for reading drama. It explores the development of theater over the last 2000 years, with the main  focus on British theater from the 15th century to the present era. Dramatic texts that range from the classical period to the twentieth century will be analyzed with reference to their historical and theoretical backgrounds. Students are expected to learn about drama as a genre, and to be able to analyze and interpret plays in a critical manner.

Announcements for Week 3
by Duong Pham - Sunday, 23 March 2008, 05:37 PM

For the presenting/performing groups:

Please include the names of all group members in your outline and email it to me 3 days in advance so I have time to comment on it. After you receive my feedback, please make changes accordingly--this will affect your mark. Time will be restricted to 30 mins max for both the presenting and performing groups.

For the whole class:

Please bring the texts for both Hamlet and An Ideal Husband for Week 3. Always read the texts and questions before you come to class. Those groups that haven't arranged a time for the viewing of An Ideal Husband, please email me your decision by Wed Mar 26. I need to book the room at the ERC. It's a good idea to book the viewing on Tue, Wed, Thu, or Fri afternoons. Note that Tue morning is already booked.

The deadline for the posting of Week 2's papers is 6pm Saturday Mar 29. After that, you won't be able to post online at all (for Week 2 groups).

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and see you soon!
